Let's start with what is usually the hardest thing to get right!

NUTRITION!!

Ultimately, we use food/calories as a source of energy. We have to eat, to be able to function on a daily basis. Even if we did nothing all day, we would still need a certain amount of calories to survive. This is known as our BMR, (Basal Metabolic Rate) What you burn at rest and sleep. We then consider how active we are from day to day. Work, Family duties, house duties, gym etc. This is how we work out our TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure).

From here, we decide whether we want to;

  • keep our weight the same (Calorie maintenance) 

  • Lose weight/Burn fat (Calorie deficit)

  • Gain Weight/muscle and/or fat (Calorie surplus)

What is fitness?

Physical fitness is a broad subject, how we define it can be completely up to ourselves and it can be measured in many different ways.........

I feel the easiest way to break it down is to look at it through 10 different components...
